The numbers behind the story are stark. NIC MAP data cited in the article estimates the country needs roughly 576,000 additional senior housing units by 2030, and more than 1 million by 2035 — while new construction runs far below that pace.
“The industry is building at roughly one tenth of what the decade requires. That is not a demand problem. It is a capital problem,” Reese told Newsweek.
